In 1994, David and Paula Flitner established The Hideout at Flitner Ranch in order to share their ranch home with guests from around the world. The Hideout’s mission then and now is to enrich guests’ appreciation of the Old West and for the American Western ranching tradition. Their hope was that guests would feel like family and become family friends. Paula and David's dream came true. The Hideout has been successful in sharing that mission. Hundreds of guests from all over the world come each summer to share cowboy adventures. They express that it is the genuine ranch experience, combined with a heartwarming sense of family and community that brings them back again and again.
